House

Some relationships end prematurely, others end only after many many months of trying to make it. House is about a love of the latter variety.

House - lyrics

Verse 1:
We were kids playing House in the backyard of my brain.
You pushed me up against the sink and kissed me.
Reality called, “Time for dinner”. I raced you to the door.
Shattered my eyes and soul on your way out
Shattered my eyes and soul on your way out

Chorus:
Oh my dear this is tearing me in two
And the smaller half is the one that wants you          I’m sorry, but it’s true
Now ceilings are carpeted, I’m spinning so confused
All of my heart loves you,
but I’ve got a head too.

Verse 2:
We were kids saying we’d figure it out someday
I crossed my fingers, You prayed “Someday come quickly”
Took our picture in color, painted it black and grey
Train my brain to think it’s been a while
Time heals they said so it’s been a while
Avoid the grief believe it’s been a while ...
I can’t mourn anymore.

Chorus:
Oh my dear this is tearing me in two
And the smaller half is the one that wants you          I hate myself, but it’s true, it’s true
Now ceilings are carpeted, I’m spinning so confused
All of my heart loves you,
but I’ve got a head too.

Outro:
If home is where the heart is
Consider this girl homeless
If home is where the heart is
Consider this girl homeless
